Best Monitor For Xbox Series X Reddit
What monitors are people looking at for the Series X currently?
Just a general question asking monitor gamers what monitors they are looking at for the new console... I know there aren't really any monitors that can take advantage of the Series X's full capability yet, so I was finding the search challenging, budget is around £250-£750 was wondering if anyone else is looking at something around that range and could share ideas!

I'm going with the LG 27GL83A-B. Some games will support 120 frames per second so it'll be useful to me. As much as 4K 60fps sounds good, I feel the Series X will benefit more from a 120+hz monitor with FreeSync.

Yes! I've finally found someone in this thread with the same idea as me, I'm going with exactly the same monitor I think, LG Ultragear 27GL83A-B... I feel the same way about 4k, until now I've always played in 1080p on my 2013 Xbox One, so whatever the jump I'll notice a difference, I think that LG monitor looks fantastic in the reviews I've seen on it, and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it if I fully decide that's the one I want, but it's at the top of my list right now and I think I'll get it...!

Have you tried on the new Xbox yet? I noticed the ad for 27GL83A-B doesn't say "Freesync" specifically. I have the Xbox series S, need to upgrade my 1080p 60hz monitor.... Primarily warzone/COD

I bought this one and am using it right now. Actually plan on returning it. Just ordered a Dell S2721DGF.
Not that I have any issues with the LG, I just want to make the most of the SX and the LG not hitting 120hz with FreeSync was kind of disappointing.
My Samsung NU8000 should be good for 4K60hz until HDMI 2.1 monitors are available and relatively affordable.

Just bought an ASUS 1440p 165hz 1ms monitor. It's really nice, and for me, frames per second is vastly more important than the visual jump from 2k to 4k.
I am buying two consoles at launch, but will use my old 1080p monitor for a couple of years until 4k monitors come down in price while also having a higher framerates.
level 2
Nice, I've heard 1440p is a sweet spot anyway and I've always played in 1080p 30FPS on my original Xbox one so will probably notice a big difference whatever I get!
Was thinking of going for the LG Ultragear 27GL83A-B and then upgrading a few years down the line
level 1
I'm really torn between getting a 1440p 144hz or a 4k 60hz.
How many games do we realistically think will be able to do 60-120 fps? Will it be pretty rare for the considerable future?
level 2
I've gone back and forth with this for the last couple of months. I decided on 4K 60hz because I don't play any first person shooter games so I don't feel like I need the extra FPS.
I guess that's what it comes down to - if you're playing the likes of COD and Fortnite you'd be better off with 1440p.
Once 4k 144hz monitors start coming out, we can always upgrade.
level 2
I am also torn as well with the same dilemma.
level 2
This was exactly my problem, people rave about 120FPS but how many games will actually take advantage of that anyway? Personally I think you would be absolutely fine with either, I'm planning on going with the LG Ultragear 27GL83A-B for now, and then maybe upgrading to something similar but in 4k in a few years when the technology has caught up!
level 2
I got both haha. Helps my dual monitor setup at home too. The 1440 gets used for multiplayer games and high fps games. The 4k gets used for single player experiences like Red Dead.

None, I'm waiting for HDMI 2.1 this hear
Keeping an eye out for ASUS and ViewSonic
level 2
Sounds sensible in terms of saving money, due to the fact my monitor is 1080p, I will probably be upgrading to the LG Ultragear 27GL83A-B, but I'm holding off on anything better until the technology has properly caught up

As am I. I keep checking every second day to hear news about the release. Acer have one coming out next year in January I believe. I've got 1.7k AUD put aside for it and I'm willing to spend more if I have too.

I am going to get a 1440p 144hz 27 inch for a year before getting a 4K 144hz 32 inch hdmi 2.1 next year

1440p 144 hz seems like the sweet spot right now for sure

Thanks for the response, i've got a free reward so I'll give it to you, I'm looking to do a similar thing, I've always played on a 1080p so will notice difference either way...
If I were to buy a 1440p would I still need to look for something with HDMI 2.1 in order to hit high frame-rates?
